Tom Hardy Becomes The Anti-Hero In New Venom Trailer

Finally, a Venom trailer where we get to see Venom.

I wouldn’t call myself a comic book stan. I’ve seen almost all of the Marvel and DC movies and for the most part, they are very enjoyable. I’m not the guy to make the “I’m glad they honored the comics” remark after I see it on the big screen. I judge these movies as, well, movies.

After watching this new trailer, my excitement for Venom has increased dramtically. Unfortunately, Spider-Man 3 missed the mark on both Venom and the movie as a whole. Venom is supposed to be a badass, anti-hero and I didn’t get that feeling with Topher Grace’s depiction of Eddie Brock. He was too witty and charming to play the dark, revenge-filled character. Tom Hardy and his New York accent was born to play Eddie Brock. The trailer gave fans flashes of Riz Ahmed’s Dr. Carlton Drake, Michelle Williams’s Ann Weying, and most importantly, the symbiote. This is where the comic book crowd lost it over the pronunciation of symbiote, something I totally missed upon first viewing. That being said, I loved the power struggle and arguments that Tom Hardy had with the symbiote, which I hope will be an entertaining battle throughout the film.

When push comes to shove, most fans will remember the final shot of Tom Hardy showing off the symbiote aka the Venom costume.

Nightmare material in a good way. It looks to me that they hit a home run when it comes to the Venom costume. However, when Venom’s tongue is out, one celebrity made a shocking discovery.

Makes you think.

When push comes to shove, there is truly one reason that I will see this film and that’s because of its star, Tom Hardy. I am a Tom Hardy STAN. I will see anything with Tommy Badass in it. Hardy has this captivating persona that no matter what movie he’s in, he always seems to steal the show. It’s like he has the audience in the palm of his hand the whole time. The Dark Knight Rises, The Revenant, Mad Max: Fury Road, Dunkirk, The Drop. Hardy is the showstopper in these movies and he’s the one you think about when you leave the theater. I’m ready for Venom.

Also, this tweet made me crack up. Tom Hardy and his accents. You gotta love them.
