Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift are Geniuses

Fake Feud. Fake Feud. Fake Feud.

ELLE – Kanye West releases “Famous,” a song on his newest album, The Life of Pablo, that includes the lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous.” Taylor Swift objected to the song’s “strong misogynistic message,” particularly the line “I made that bitch famous.” In a cover story for GQ, Kim Kardashian claimed that Swift was given a head’s up about the song by Kanye West himself. In a Snapchat story on Sunday night, Kardashian posted the video of the call, where Swift thanks Kanye for the head’s up. “I really appreciate it,” she says. “This is so nice.”

I love fake feuds!

By now, you all should know that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have been in a feud with Taylor Swift for a few years now. It started with Kanye interrupting Taylor at the VMA’s a few years ago. Then, Taylor becomes friends with Kanye. Then, they’re not friends again and Kim exposes Taylor. I’m not going into the specifics of the feud, but I will give you my biggest takeaway:

Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift are geniuses.

That is not a typo. I’ll say it again. Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift are geniuses.

Everything about this feud is a publicity stunt. If you do not believe that, then you are INSANE. Answer these questions for me if you think I’m the crazy one.

Why would Kim post this video exposing Taylor Swift now if she had it for months? Was it a coincidence that the video was posted on the same night as a Keeping Up With The Kardashians episode that talked about the feud? Why would Taylor continue to deny that she gave Kanye permission to use the line in his song when she in fact gave Kanye permission to talk about her? Do you really think that Taylor Swift would give permission over the phone when she knows that there are cameras recording Kim and Kanye’s every move? Why does this whole thing seem fishy and staged?

This is so fake it’s not even funny. People do not like buddy-buddy relationships as much as they like a good feud. How will Taylor defeat Kanye and Kim? How can Kanye diss Taylor? What will Kim do? It’s like a perfectly written soap opera. All three of these celebrities are three of the most powerful people on the planet. The three of them are puppet masters and we are the damn puppets. Wake up, people! Sure, no one will be on Twitter on a Sunday night…

The propaganda machine keeps on turning. I firmly believe that any publicity is good publicity. I’m not even a huge Kanye, Kim, and Taylor fan, but you better believe that I’m informed on the drama and talking about the “feud” with friends. I have no stats to prove this, but I can guarantee that the fashion and music associated with all three of the celebrities has increased over the day. Nothing important on in terms of television and entertainment? How about lighting a Twitter match on Sunday night post Game of Thrones and setting it on fire? Pure genius. Kanye, Kim, and Taylor are going to continue this “feud” as they sit on their Iron Thrones while the peasants like me talk about it on Twitter. Now that my friends is the tragedy. I can’t wait for all three of these celebs to sit down on a show like Fallon or Kimmel to put aside their differences and become “friends” again. Genius.

P.S. Larry King trying to direct the spotlight towards him during the feud was LOL funny. Cannot knock Larry K’s hustle.

The Project X Soundtrack is One of The Best Soundtracks of All Time

I typically spend my Wednesday nights watching MTV The Challenge at 10 PM. It’s arguably the best show on MTV. The Challenge will always have a special place in my heart. Before 10, I usually spend aimless hours channeling surfing, hoping to find something that catches my interest before I die of boredom.

So I was pumped to find out that MTV was giving us an appetizer of Project X before The Challenge. Awesome, awesome move on MTV’s part because I love everything about Project X. This movie should not have worked. “A bunch of nerds decide to throw a party and tape the whole experience.” If I were to see that preview now, I probably wouldn’t be sold and I for sure would not spend money on a ticket.

That being said, Project X rules. It simply rules. Killer characters. Beautiful women. The nostalgia factor of partying in high school. So many one liners. My personal favorite is “The only thing you’re working on is diabetes.” Such a low blow by Costa to JB, but hilarious.

But the real star of the movie is the music. Fire flames to the tenth power. Jam after Jam. The perfect mix of rap and electronic music (Click here to listen to all of the songs from the movie.). Pusha T, Tyler the Creator, Nas, Kid Cudi, Steve Aoki, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Unbelievable. Here’s my Top 5.

5. Tipsy (Club Mix) – J-Kwon

Listening to Tipsy in 5th grade? Yeah, I was a badass.

4. Pursuit of Happiness – Kid Cudi (Steve Aoki Remix)

Some might argue this is the best song from the movie. I can respect that. Still brings people to the dance floor.

3. White Trash Party – Eminem

An under-the-radar song from Eminem and it definitely gets forgotten during Project X.

2. Trouble On My Mind – Pusha T feat. Tyler, the Creator

What a banger. You better believe I bump this song while driving my baby blue Volkswagen convertible buggy.

1. Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix) – Yeah Yeah Yeahs

The GOAT. So catchy. So fire. So good.

Adidas Expanding On Partnership With Kanye West

“These past two years Adidas and Yeezy have given a glimpse into our future,” West said.

Today, Adidas announced that Kanye West will be getting his own design team, along with Yeezy retail stores. The shops will be called “Adidas + KANYE WEST“.

“These past two years Adidas and Yeezy have given a glimpse into our future,” West said, via press release. “This partnership illustrates that anyone with a dream can dream without limitations.”

Adidas first launch of a Kanye West product came in February of 2015 with the Yeezy 750 Boost. The relationship has been a very successful one over the first two years as every release of the 350 (low top) Boost and 750 Boost sneaker has sold out through the Adidas app within minutes. They have released an array of colorways that fans have struggled to get their hands on. The Chicago native has promised that the sneakers will be more accessible and affordable in the past. Let’s hope this is the first step in the right direction toward that goal. No person should have to pay $1,500 for a pair of sneakers since they are sold out.

Mr. West continues to make history in the fashion world, after selling out MSG for his Yeezy Season 3 premiere. The new Adidas deal marks the biggest between an apparel brand and a non-athlete. Kanye’s influence is only growing and rivaled by nobody in the industry. Anything Kanye touches seems to turn to gold. This new deal will allow him to seize the control that he needs to make his vision come to fruition.

Congrats to Kanye and hook me up with some Yeezys!

Big Sean’s ‘Finally Famous’ Turns 5 Today

The Detroit native celebrates the anniversary of his debut LP ‘Finally Famous’

Did 5 years fly by or what? When I heard that this album turned 5 today (June 28). I was in shock because it brought me back to the days when I would bump it while cruising the streets of Yorktown as a high school graduate back in 2011. That’s some scary shit man.

Sean’s first LP, Finally Famous, put the Detroit native on the map in the hip-hop scene. He has grown over the years, dropping two very successful albums along the way, vaulting him into one of the stars of the game under the G.O.O.D Music label.

When I go back into this album I hear some timeless hits with some great production work, most of which is done by the legendary No I.D. There is also a great use of features throughout the project by some big time names in the industry such as: Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Chris Brown and more.

The three singles released leading up to the album charted successfully.

“My Last” featuring Chris Brown debuted at #30 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the rap charts giving Sean his first number 1 hit. “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay” featuring Kanye West peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Dance (A$$)” was remixed in October of 2011 with a feature from Nicki Minaj.

Finally Famous came in at #3 on the Billboard 200 and moved 87,000 copies in the United States in the first week.

The Def Jam rapper followed up with LPs Hall of Fame in 2013 and Dark Sky Paradise in 2015. He also stated a new album is on the way later this year.

Happy Anniversary Boiiiiii
